Check Out: How Robots That Vacuum And Mop Is Taking Over And What You Can Do About It

auto vacuum  and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one go without the need to change devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot must have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer at a modest price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is  automated vacuum cleaner  and the quick-start manual can get you up and running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For instance, you can, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are excellent too, with the robot being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you precisely what the robot has done, where it is moving, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that displays the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the water tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand however we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. The model of this year features an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

The Roborock model, just like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its direction and clean them without missing a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-filling.

The only negative I found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's life. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry debris. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. In addition the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another notable characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture with a low profile making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that enables the X40 to avoid damaging floors by excessive back-and forth movements.

Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming at the same time or separately. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is user-friendly and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There are plenty of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are numerous features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles instead of relying on a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, with a white and metallic design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
